2000 Guineas Result 2010

The 2000 Guineas is the first classic of the season and should be absolute belter for racing fans at Newmarket with the race taking place as always over the Rowley Mile. As and when the result comes through we will have the full result and SP's available here for punters to study to find out if their bet has come in or not.

All the talk before the race was about St Nicholas Abbey as a warm favourite after his Racing Post Trophy win last year but in the end he never featured when asked for a response from Johnny Murtagh. There was a big shock in the end with French Raider Makfi getting up to claim an unlikely win at Newmarket as a 33/1 shot. The Richard Hannon duo of Dick Turpin and Canford Cliffs both ran well to claim second and third but there was no catching the winner.
